Your maps can easily be shared on social media networks as well as by email.
Sharing Methods
Maps can be shared by:
- Map creators – from the editor by opening the Share menu
- Anyone viewing the map – from the map home and from each location
Social Sharing Networks
The following social sharing networks are available on the map overview and each location:
You can also share the map directly from your Instagram account.
Sharing Scope
Social sharing is available at the map level and for each location. When a user shares a specific location, the sharing link will go directly to that location.
Social Sharing Image
Images significantly impact social sharing and can greatly influence post popularity on social media networks like Facebook.
Screenshot Option
After publishing your map, you can take a screenshot that will automatically be included for social sharing. You can refresh this screenshot if you make additional map changes.
Custom Image Option
Customize your social media sharing appearance by uploading a custom image in the “Custom” section. This image will replace the default map view.
Image Update Process
Facebook may take several hours or days to update the shared image. To reset the cached image:
- Visit the Facebook Debugger Tool.
- Enter your map URL and click Debug.
- Click the Scrape Again button.
Disabling Social Sharing
To disable sharing:
- In the left menu, select the Sharing tab.
- Click on Social Sharing.
- Disable the Social Sharing toggles.
Embedded Maps
The toolbar social sharing button is not available in embedded maps. For embedded maps, provide social sharing options on the webpage where the map is embedded.
