How to get started creating your Interactive Map?

The Mapme editor makes it fast and easy to create your interactive maps. No programming or coding knowledge is needed. Check out our introduction tutorial below:

Map Home

Think about it as a website homepage. Start with adding:

  • Your map title – Give your map a meaningful name.
  • A description – We recommend keeping it short.
  • Logo/image – Optional, you can use it to brand your map.

Categories or Storytelling maps

Mapme lets you create two kinds of maps:

  1. Storytelling Map: your locations are shown one after another, like a story. You just add places to your map, and people can scroll through them in order.
  2. Map with Categories and Filters: you organize your map using different categories. This is great for when you have a lot of information and want to sort it into groups.

If you choose to make a map with categories, start by creating a few categories first. Don’t worry, you can always change them or add more later!

Populate your map

Add locations to your map. Each location will show a marker on the map as well as its related content (description, images, videos, and more). You can add locations one by one in the editor or use the import feature to add many locations at once. Locations can include the following information:

You can easily change the order of the locations by dragging them.

Publish your map

Here’s how to make your map live and share it:

  1. Publish Your Map: Click ‘Publish‘ to make your map live.
  2. Share Your Map:
    • Embed on a Website: Add your map to your website for visitors to see.
    • Social Networks: Share the map on Facebook, Twitter, etc.
    • Email and Marketing: Include the map’s URL in emails or campaigns.
