Using the Map Template Gallery

Overview

Creating a new map from scratch can take time. To make the process faster and easier, Mapme offers a Template Gallery. Instead of starting with a blank map, you can browse ready-made templates designed for common use cases—such as a Downtown Guide, University Campus, or Project Portfolio—and import them directly into your account.

How Templates Work

When you import a template, you get a strong foundation for your project without the need to configure every detail from scratch.

  • You get predefined categories (names, marker icons, colors, etc.) tailored to the use case.
  • All relevant settings (map layout, interactions, and design choices) are included.
  • Sample locations are removed so you can start fresh with your own content.

Benefits of Using Templates

  • Save time: Skip repetitive setup steps and get a ready-to-use structure.
  • Best practices built in: Templates are designed with proven configurations for specific use cases.
  • Customizable: You can edit categories, markers, and settings to fit your needs.
  • Quick onboarding: Perfect for new users who want to see how a professional map is structured.

Tip: Even after importing a template, you can adjust everything—categories, markers, design, and settings—so your map reflects your unique brand and content.

Plan Requirements

Each template may require a specific Mapme plan—Starter, Professional, or Expert—depending on the features included.

  • Example: If a template includes 8 categories, it requires the Professional plan.

If your account does not currently have the required plan:

  • The imported map will automatically unlock all needed features for 14 days.
  • You can explore and test the full template during this period.
  • Note: The map cannot be published unless your account is upgraded to the required plan.

  1. Click on the Create New Map button
  2. Browse the gallery and choose a template that matches your use case.
  3. Click Get Template.
