We’re very excited to announce a major update to the editor and release of the new interactive map preview.
Edit-in-place with the new interactive map preview
In the legacy editor, you would open small dedicated map windows to draw and adjust the map views. This could be challenging since those windows did not show the map context like the markers and drawings.
With the interactive preview in the new editor, you can now draw directly on the preview as well as adjust the different map views.
Draw on the map preview
To draw on the map:
- create a new drawing layer
- select one of the drawing tools (line or shape)
- start drawing on the map preview
For example, you can easily connect a line between markers or draw a shape around multiple markers.
If you want to edit your drawings, select the layer with the drawings you would like to edit.
If you have many drawings on your map, you can hide the drawings from the other layers.

Adjust the map Views
One of the most powerful features of Mapme is the ability to set Views. With Views, you can define the user experience:
- when the viewer opens the map
- when the viewer filters the map by category
- when the viewer opens a specific location
You can now easily set each View directly in the preview. To set the Views:
- Open the view menu in the map home, category, or locations
- Select the View type (center zoom or Area)
- Use the controls in the preview to set the center, zoom, pitch, bearing, or area
Apply your map location’s settings globally
We highly recommend using the same settings for the map view across all locations. Consistent settings for all the location views provide a great user experience. With this update, we make it quick and easy to apply your location view settings globally. You can choose to apply the zoom level, pitch (3D effect), and bearing (orientation).

Updated editor design
Preview area
The new editor design features a much larger preview area. About 2/3 of the screen is now used for previewing the map. As a result, you get a much better feel for how your map looks as you work on your map in the editor.
The preview features a new mode where the map fills the entire preview area so there are now 4 preview modes:
- Preview fill – the map fills the entire preview area
- Preview as desktop – the map displays like on a typical computer screen format
- Preview as mobile- the map displays like on a typical mobile phone screen
- Preview as full screen – the preview opens full screen on top of the editor
Menu and settings
Menus and settings have been reorganized to be more intuitive and give quicker access to the most commonly used features in the editor.
