When starting with Mapme, we recommend adding a few location pins using the Editor to get familiar with the basics.
Adding Locations in the Mapme Editor
To start adding locations, click on the “Add Location” button. You’ll see a location search box with three options:
- Search
- Drop a Pin
- Autofill

Search
You can search for:
- An Address: Enter a partial or full address. For best results, enter specific details.
- A Place
- Latitude and Longitude: For precise placement, enter geographic coordinates in the format “latitude, longitude” (e.g., 41.965028, -93.422310).
If an exact address isn’t available, enter a nearby address and manually adjust the location marker. Refer to our tutorial on manually adjusting pin positions for more details.
Drop a Pin
Click anywhere on the map to add a location. This is especially useful for events, festivals, and nature-related maps.
Autofill
When managing multiple maps, Autofill allows you to automatically add location data from another map in your account. Simply search for an existing location name to reuse its data. Learn more about the Autofill feature in our tutorial.
