Map AI Import uses artificial intelligence to read your file and figure out how to organize and display your data on the map. It’s smart enough to understand your file, even if the field names are different.
How Map AI Import Works
Automatic Field Matching
Map AI looks at the field names and the type of content to match them with the correct information in Mapme.
- For example, whether your column is labeled “Long”, “long.”, or “Longitude”, Map AI will understand it’s the longitude.
- If you have a column named “notes”, Map AI will guess it’s meant to be the location description.
Combining Multiple Fields
Map AI can also combine information from several columns into one.
- For instance, your address could be in a single column like:
“14 Cobb Ave, Scarsdale, New York, NY 10605” - Or it could be split across multiple columns: Street, City, State, and Zip Code.
Map AI will recognize the parts and combine them into one full address automatically.
How to Use Map AI Import
- Upload your file with location data.
- Map AI will analyze your file (this usually takes 10–20 seconds).
- You’ll see a table preview of your data. If it looks good, continue with the import.
- If something looks off, you can give Map AI a few simple instructions to improve the results.
Giving Instructions to Map AI (Prompts)
Prompts are short instructions written in everyday language. Here are some examples:
- For the category, use the field with header “type”
- For the description, use the field with header “notes”
- For the description, use the fields “size” and “rooms”
You can give multiple instructions at once. For best results, try to follow the format of the examples above.
