Map Lock

The Map Lock feature provides account owners with enhanced control over map editing permissions. This security feature allows to protect specific maps from accidental or unauthorized changes.

Key Features

• Only account owners, administrators, and Editors can lock and unlock maps
• Locked maps cannot be deleted, renamed, duplicated, or archived
• Locking a map does not affect its visibility – users can still view the published version
• Team members will see a visual indicator (lock icon) for locked maps

Using Map Lock

How to Lock a Map

1. Access the editor dashboard
2. Locate the desired map in the list
3. Click the three-dot menu (⋮) to the right of the map
4. Select “Lock” from the menu options
5. Confirm the lock icon appears next to the map name

How to Unlock a Map

Note: Only account owners can perform this action

1. Access the editor dashboard
2. Locate the locked map in the list
3. Click the three-dot menu (⋮) to the right of the map
4. Select “Unlock” from the menu options
5. Verify the lock icon disappears from the map name

Best Practices

• Lock maps that are considered final or approved versions
• Use map locks for sensitive content that requires restricted editing
• Regularly review locked maps to ensure they still require protection
• Communicate lock status changes to team members when relevant
