The Map Lock feature provides account owners with enhanced control over map editing permissions. This security feature allows to protect specific maps from accidental or unauthorized changes.
Key Features
- Only account owners, administrators, and Editors can lock and unlock maps
- Locked maps cannot be deleted, renamed, duplicated, or archived
- Locking a map does not affect its visibility – users can still view the published version
- Team members will see a visual indicator (lock icon) for locked maps

Using Map Lock
How to Lock a Map
- Access the editor dashboard
- Locate the desired map in the list
- Click the three-dot menu (⋮) to the right of the map
- Select “Lock” from the menu options
- Confirm the lock icon appears next to the map name

How to Unlock a Map
Note: Only account owners can perform this action
- Access the editor dashboard
- Locate the locked map in the list
- Click the three-dot menu (⋮) to the right of the map
- Select “Unlock” from the menu options
- Verify the lock icon disappears from the map name
Best Practices
- Lock maps that are considered final or approved versions
- Use map locks for sensitive content that requires restricted editing
- Regularly review locked maps to ensure they still require protection
- Communicate lock status changes to team members when relevant
