Mapme has designed a user interface optimized for phones and tablets. The mobile experience includes three different views to display location information, Expanded, Compact and Minimized views.
Map users can swipe up and down to move seamlessly from one view to the other.
By default, when viewing a location, Mapme displays the Compact view.
In order to provide maximum flexibility, Mapme lets you select which view to show when a user opens a location.
Expanded view
All the content is displayed. The map is visible only around the edges of the content panel.
Compact view
Partial content is displayed on about 1/3 of the screen height. The map is visible above the content.
How does it work?
There are two ways for a user to open and view a location content:
- Tap on a list item. Lists can be generated from search results or category filters.
- Tap on a marker on the map.
For each action, you can select to open either the Expanded, Compact or Minimized view.

To adjust these settings for mobile view, navigate to:
Settings > Layout, then open Content Layout Details, choose Mobile, and select Details.
Hide the Compact view
You also have the option to completely hide the Compact view. In this case, when swiping the card up and down, the location content will go directly from the Expanded view to the Minimized view and vice versa.
Note that if you have disabled the Compact view, you will not see the option to set the Compact view as the default.
Use case examples
Map with video content
If your map includes a lot of videos, we recommend you select the Expanded view. That way, the map viewer will see right away the video autoplay when selecting a location.
Minimal content per location
If your map includes minimal content per location, we recommend selecting the minimized view. The map viewer will see the relevant information as well as enjoy the map on most of the screen.
Interactive tours
For interactive tours, we recommend selecting the Compact view. It provides space to view the location’s details as well as the location context on the map.
