With Mapme, you can precisely control the map view for each location. In other words, you can choose how the map will look when a user selects a location on your map.
The following settings are available:
- Marker position – manually adjust the position of the marker on the map. Learn more.
- Zoom level – Set the zoom level using the zoom controls or mouse wheel. The zoom value ranges from 1 to 22.
- Pitch angle – Adjust the pitch angle (3D effect) with the lever also called pitch or angle. The default value ranges from 0 to 60 degrees and can be extended to 85 degrees.
- Rotation – Use the compass tool to change the map’s orientation, also called bearing. The value ranges from 0 to 360 degrees.
Which values should you use?
It depends on your use case. For example, if you want to provide a high level of detail for a location, choose a high zoom level like 17. If you rather show a large area around a location, select a lower zoom level, for example, 12, and set the pitch angle to 60 or higher.
Set the same view across all locations
For most use cases, we recommend using the same view settings for all your map locations to provide a consistent user experience.
You can easily assign the same value for the zoom level, 3D effect, and orientation. In the advanced menu, apply the map view settings across all the locations on your map.
How do you set the view for each location?
- Open the location
- Click on “Position & view”
- Use the control in the interactive map preview or enter values under advanced settings
- Your changes are autosaved

Set views for your map home and categories
Similarly to controlling the view for each location, you can also set the view for the map home and each map category. Click here to learn more.
