Share your map with different category subsets

You can share different versions of your map and choose which categories will show on each version. This feature let you:

  • Hide categories from the legend and filters
  • Remove the locations that belong to those categories from the map
  • Control the order of the categories in the legend

Note that if you only want to hide a category from the legend, you can use the settings under “Category and markers visibility”.

Use Case Examples

You might want to share your map on your website with different industry categories. For example, a construction company would show on its home page all the different industries they are operating in. In the Education section of their website, they would only show a subset of relevant categories such as “Schools” and “Universities”.

How Does It Work?

To customize which categories are displayed on the map, use the Advanced Embed Code Generator:

  1. In the left menu, go to Share > Embed in a Web Page > Advanced Embedding Options.
  2. Click the dropdown menu and select the categories you want to display.
  3. The embed code will update automatically based on your selection.

For example, this version displays 2 out of 4 categories from this map

Order of the categories

The order of the categories in the legend and filter will follow the order in which you selected the categories in the drop-down.

Multilevel categories

If you are using multilevel categories and want to show a parent category and all its subcategories, you only need to include the parent category in the URL.
